Letters: Refusal to vote is childish

I agree with Martin Hulme (Letters, 17 April) on the importance of exercising the right to vote.

To me, taking an interest in issues that affect your everyday life and the wider world are part of adult life and making a choice based on those issues through voting is a civic duty.

Those who refuse to vote or take an interest in the world around them are simply grown-up children. Strangely enough, they are also the first to complain when things go wrong.
