Letter: Weather report

Congratulations on your two-page update on the effect of the gales (24 May).

I was trying to follow some of this on our national TV news programmes from the Central Belt. Result? Virtually nil. Even the team in Edinburgh Airport filming delayed passengers failed to mention the damage to the airport itself.

Some people's lives were in danger as trees fell near homes and over farmlands and roads.

It should not have been hard for TV newsrooms to produce some coverage for our many ferry and bridge travellers throughout Scotland. But the slower distribution of news- papers achieved it.
