Letter: Stop prostitution
I agree that buying sex should be illegal, but do not agree that prostitutes should automatically be seen as "victims" (your report, 24 November).
Of course criminal schemes and drug addiction do trap some in prostitution, but others enter prostitution of their own accord.
Prostitutes, like drug dealers, help their users along a road of addiction towards dysfunctional relationships and a life dominated by cravings for stimulation that no longer satisfies.

Hide AdProstitutes and their clients need help, but our society should not tolerate a sex trade. The more inaccessible prostitutes are, the less they will be used. Keeping prostitution illegal and underground is key to this.
