Letter: Retort in Scots

In RESPONSE to Robert Pate's letter (6 November) I accept his challenge regarding Burns writing in Scots.

I quote as follows from The Brigs of Ayr: "Nae langer rev'rend men, their country's glory, In plain braid Scots hold forth a plain, braid story." Incidentally, I'm one of these Scotsmen who speaks Scots and loves to drink Scotch.
