Letter: Prestwick danger

MANY are of the opinion that it is imprudent that suspected terrorist aircrafts will be diverted from London to Prestwick Airport in Scotland during the London Olympics (your report, 17 December).

Thirty-year-old Westminster secret documents disclosed recently reveal that a direct hit on Faslane/Coulport nuclear naval bases on the Clyde would have resulted in more than one million Scots being roasted alive and left a large swathe of central Scotland uninhabitable for generations.

These bases are only three to four minutes’ flying time from Prestwick Airport.
