Letter: Name game

Rather than being Spanish for "Land of Castles" (Features, 6 June), Catalunya is probably a corruption of Gothlandia. The Visi, a Gothic people, established a kingdom in the area more than 1,500 years ago. The pronunciation/spelling changes in the name seem clear. Try altering one letter/phoneme at a time to get from one to the other.
