Letter: Libya overspend

News on Monday focused on budget cuts that leave our fragile elderly with inadequate home care, and yet the Treasury has spent more than £1 billion in a prolonged attack against Libya.

The protection of civilians was the reason, but the regimes in Bahrain and Syria have been just as brutal. Moral outrage is of no consequence when it is not in the interests of those who wield power.
