Letter: Indecent proposal

MUCH as I enjoy the regular foaming mouth moments in the weekly columns written by that unbending stick Gerald Warner, I do take objection to his implication that the equal marriage campaign is trying to wipe the words “husband” and “wife” from the dictionary (Insight, 18 March).

This is certainly not the case; but it is all too typical of the groundless assertions made by opponents of reform who utterly fail to explain how widening eligibility to marriage somehow changes it for the rest.
