Letter: A helpful No vote

SIR Ian Wood has to be applauded for stating that he will give the £50 million pledged to help fund the City Garden Project in Aberdeen to his charity set up to help good causes in Africa should the people of Aberdeen vote against the project.

Here is an opportunity which the citizens of Aberdeen cannot ignore. Vote against the Granite Web design and thus retain Union Terrace Gardens in their present form, and at the same time this will release funding from local businessman Mr Jim Milne and his friends to improve the gardens for the future, plus ensuring that £50m shall go to help Sir Ian’s African charity.

It’s a no-brainer. A vote against the City Garden Project will result in far more good coming out of this.
