Letter: Gravy train blues

It would appear that Christine Lagarde is favourite to take over as leader of the IMF and enjoy the perks that go with the job, including first-class worldwide air travel and staying in hotels for the fabulously rich, not to forget the massive salary that goes with the job.

Eurocrats look after themselves very well and it is understandable that poor old Gordon Brown is rightly really cheesed off at not making it to the shortlist.
