Letter: Film fest tickets

I was surprised to read aboutpoor ticket sales for the Edinburgh International Film Festival (your report, 16 June). You may be right with regard to the opening night film, The Guard, but you then mention tickets for Perfect Sense, implying it has had poor sales too.

On Wednesday night I could not even get one ticket for the Sunday screening.According to the website there were four tickets left for Saturday's premiere. This film was moved from the Cameo because it sold out so quickly so it cannot be considered to be doing badly with regard to ticket sales. No doubt the appearance of Ewan McGregor has had an impact on Saturday sales but this would not sell Sunday night tickets.
