Letter: Davidson makes best of a bad job

UNLIKE one of your readers in Debate (18 March), I think that Ruth Davidson is making a good attempt to stir people’s interest in the political process.

We are living through a very strange time of change when we have lost our bearings. As Duncan Hamilton says in his Scrutiny (18 March), Labour is struggling to find its way and the SNP has managed to bridge all political divides with great success.

Ruth Davidson is playing the Unionist card with passion while it is still unclear where Johann Lamont is going with a defunct Labour “Joker”. The elephant in the room is that Scotland is already getting used to the idea of independence, which looks preferable to any alternative at the moment.
