Letter: Council budget

ONE of the less attractive features of elections is of candidates (Letters, 21 April) who create a carbon footprint by writing numerous self-promoting letters to the press.

It’s not professional lobbyists or well-meaning zealots the council needs, but political and financial expertise to deal with the £1 billion council budget along with the burden of paying for the trams.
