Letter: Child unfriendly
Gaby Soutar (Magazine, 11 June) suspects the revamping of The Peacock Inn has driven away the former clientele, whom she scornfully refers to as: "silver-haired old geezers", then cheerfully admits she and her sister inflicted a bawling infant on the staff and customers of the inn.
Selfish families who ruin the pleasure of all within sight and earshot by carting over-young or undisciplined offspring into restaurants are precisely the reason why silver-haired "old geezers" like me seek out more tranquil surroundings.
