Letter: Bygone era was no Labour of love

THE SNP's first term in office, according to Kenny Farquharson, has not been very exciting (Insight, 5 December).

He means, presumably, by comparison with the thrilling displays of boldness, energy, charismatic leadership and radical political thought with which Labour inspired us during the first two sessions of our devolved parliament. And when we reflect on the fact that, if Labour were restored to power, the people who would then form the government of Scotland are of a calibre almost fit to match those who ruled us in those days, how can we have any doubts which party deserves our support?
