Globalisation is a key factor George Kerevan doesn't mention in his analysis of the "birth of Thatcherism" (Opinion, 10June).

The extent of the present financial crisis is a measure of the global interdependence of national economies 30 years ago, from which even the Iron Lady wasn't immune.
