Letter: All walk

I'm very disappointed to see that the "Slutwalk" phenomenon has reached Scotland (your report, 3 June) I agree wholeheartedly with their central point that there is no excuse for a man to sexually assault a woman regardless of how she may be dressed.

However, I fear this movement may be no more "feminist" than "girl power" turned out to be. Society is already bombarded with images of young women dressed provocatively. These walks will simply provide more justification for this. In turn, this perpetuates the unfortunate belief among many young women that they should allow their worth to be measured by their sexual attractiveness.
