Let firms fail

In response to Ellis Thorpe (Letters, 9 July), it is to be hoped that no future Scottish
government, SNP or otherwise, will “take into public ownership any loss-making company to save jobs” as no jobs have
ever been saved or ever will be saved by taking a loss-making company into public ownership.

A policy of nationalising failing business simply punishes success with tax and rewards failure with government money expropriated from successful companies.
