Justice for Evans

The row over whether the convicted rapist and footballer Ched Evans should be allowed to play the game again rumbles on. The question has to be asked: how long does a convicted person who has served their sentence have to wait before they can begin to earn a living again?

Six months, a year or never again if you are a footballer, apparently. That’s what this man does for a living. Is he to be on the dole forever?

If he was a joiner he would be back at work earning a living and it is surely right that this man is allowed to return to his profession as soon as possible.

It is ridiculous that he is being hounded from pillar to post. He has paid the price for his actions and now must be allowed to move on regardless of his profession.
