Job for Holyrood

For years now Scottish people have been facing the ongoing scourge of travellers setting up illegal camps everywhere and unlimited numbers of beggars on our streets.

Both are national problems seeking a national solution from our Scottish Parliament. What’s the point in having our own Scottish Parliament which repeatedly ducks and dives away from the more important issues and leaves cash-strapped local authorities to try to find the solution?

If Scottish legislation were to be passed giving the new national police service the powers needed in these matters, the problems could be solved within weeks.
