Entertained by extreme writer

FOR the guilty thrill of glimpsing the extremes of American right-wing madness, I occasionally call up Anne Coulter or Rush Limbaugh on the internet. The sheer visceral loathing for anything associated with the ultimate evil of “liberalism” can still shock.

To find the same obsessions allowed full and unapologetic presentation on a weekly basis in Scotland on Sunday is more than just eccentric editorial judgment on your part.

How more extreme will Gerald Warner’s over-the-top rantings have to become before someone decides to pull the plug on him?

Mind you, at one level, it would be a pity, as his entertainment value is undeniable.
