Earning a bonus

I share the concern of your political correspondent Scott Macnab about publicly funded bodies still paying out bonuses, this against Scottish Government policy (your report, 12 February).

But I feel it very unfair to lump employees of the Scottish Parliament in with highly remunerated consultants and members of public quangos.

Surely it is only right and proper for an employee who takes on extra duties for such an important role as providing first-aid cover to receive some monetary recompense for doing so.
