Duties of care

regarding your correspondence about a bonus for doing extra duties at work, before I retired from nursing, I worked in a busy hospital critical care department, a job that was very stressful at times.

But I was also the fire safety rep, the blood transfusion trainer and the control of substances hazardous to health rep. No mention of extra pay or a bonus was ever considered. But these various duties did take up a lot of my time and kept away from my nursing job.

As for first aid, surely it is a persons’ duty to help a fellow human in distress, without looking for reward.
