With due respect

I find it difficult to accept David Cameron's claims that he has learned from the mistakes of Margaret Thatcher and that he will treat Scotland with respect (your report, 26 March).

There are several Conservative Party posters in prominent locations around Edinburgh proclaiming the virtues of potential Tory policy on education and the NHS, both devolved issues. With such a flagrant disregard for Scotlands' constitutional reality is it any surprise Mr Cameron's words of detente are hard to take seriously?
