DIY tills a boon

I have to disagree with Gordon Kennedy’s view of DIY tills (Letters, 11 November).

As a regular user of them, they are a boon in the time-poor society we live in. It is my blood pressure that rises when those that clearly find simple instructions and technology beyond them, insist on using them.

If the challenge is too great, then go to the manned till and whilst there, slow it down too, by probably discussing the referendum, energy provision, secularism and any other of the regular Letters topics with the checkout operator.
