Did we vote for the government?

JOHN Smart thinks that (lately) we have not been governed by governments for which we have voted and that a Yes vote will correct that (Letters, 1 December). In fact, Scotland does not now have a government for which it voted. The SNP got a majority of seats in the Parliament even though they did not get a majority of votes. In the 2011 election the SNP received only 45.4 per cent of the constituency votes and only 44 per cent of the regional votes. Most people voted for other parties.
