I HAVEN’T read any of the books of the year selected for your dubious list of the great and the good (Spectrum, 1 December). My choice would be Philip Dwyer’s Citizen Emperor, the second volume of his biography of Napoleon. The chapters on the 1812 campaign are especially riveting.
