A dead loss

I find it hard to understand what – if anything – goes through the minds of the people mentioned in your story "Families facing anxious wait after NHS blunder over organ donors" (12 April).

Maybe I should be thankful that my organ donor card says "any part of my body be used for the treatment of others".

Let's face it: if I was like some of the people in your story and I died only to have my corneas removed when I specifically said that surgeons should remove only my kidneys and heart, I would be livid.

Oh, no, I wouldn't. I'd be dead. The lengths some people will go to to get themselves in the news is pitiful.
