Day of rest

Might I plead – on behalf of, I am sure, many readers of your columns – that you declare this Saturday a day of rest.

A rest, that is, from the deluge of political correspondence from your faithful army of obsessives and paranoiacs we have suffered over many months.

For just one day, should you not have enough letters on non-political topics? Blank spaces could be left, perhaps decorated with smiley-face emoticons – in black and white, of course, to avoid accusations of political bias.
