Dark knight

Your report of Anders Breivik’s trial in Norway (18 April) rightly reported that he claimed to follow in the (dubious) tradition of Christian knights.

However, in an age when the New Atheists are eager to lay all evils at the foot of religion, we should remember that, in his own words, Breivik is “not an excessively religious man” but “first and foremost a man of logic”.
