Cumbernauld call

Your article about Cumbernauld (30 April) reminded me of watching Gregory's Girl in the small Australian town in which I grew up. It was so far removed from what I was used to, it seemed exotic. I recently visited it on what must be the most underwhelming pilgrimage on record.
