Costly solution

The Scottish Government is to establish a fund to help poor countries cope with the impact of climate change (your report, 2 March). More than £1 million is to be sent abroad to help foreign countries “adapt” to climate change.

Scotland’s foreign aid fund is now £9m every year. The Scottish taxpayer is already contributing £750m through UK foreign aid.

Politicians are very free with our money especially since the theory, and that is all it is, of man-made global warming is being increasingly disputed. In order to be seen as “green”, politicians are spending fortunes on something that may or may not be a problem in 100 years’ time.
