Cost of wind

Ms Sturgeon claims that onshore wind is cheaper than new nuclear (your report, 2 March).

That is a wind industry claim that ignores all the additional costs which we all pay for in our electricity bills for embedding intermittent wind in a generating system not designed for it.

On shore wind is £160/MWhr while new (unnecessarily high) nuclear is £98/MWhr.
