Brown off-target

Gordon Brown always seems to get it wrong.

His latest blunder is to suggest that the criticism of the Smith Commission report by the SNP, the Greens and the STUC, along with other organisations, is in some way related to the constitutional question. This could not be further from the truth.

The criticism simply highlights the weaknesses in the report to give the Scottish Parliament the powers needed to create jobs and improve the quality of life for the poorest in our society. This has nothing to do with the constitutional issue.

I was delighted to learn that he is bowing out of UK and Scottish politics. He is doing us all a big favour. The damage he has done to the UK and Scottish economies will be with us for decades.
