Bridge contracts

YOUR article “Bridge May be finished a year early (if Scottish weather allows)”, published on 17 March, reports the value of the third contract on the Forth replacement crossing scheme to be worth £790 million.

This is, of course, the value of the principal contract to build the new bridge. The correct value of the Fife ITS (Intelligent Transport System) is £12.9m., some £2m below the original cost range.

The contract – which has been awarded to John Graham (Dromore) Ltd – will deliver the Fife ITS technology that will regulate traffic flow and provide information to drivers.
