Body of proof

“Scientists proving a creator’s existence would be the end, not the triumph, of religion”,
according to Neil Craig (Letters, 30 March). How bizarre. This is a bit like saying that if scientists confirmed the existence of my wife, then that would be the end of our marriage.

The ample and growing scientific evidence for the existence of God serves to increase the credibility of the Easter Story. By straightforward logic, historical revelations of God become less improbable as God’s existence becomes more probable. Recent atheist correspondents have
presented shallow and simplistic arguments with breathtaking self-assurance: Mr Craig has continued this tradition.
