A bio mess?

Political memoirs are usually full of pompous self-justification – the only two I found worth the effort were those of Roy Jenkins (Life at the Centre) and Rab Butler (The Art of the Possible). If you are in the mood, Tony Benn’s diaries are amusing for their Pooterish banality and adolescent delight on having been always right on everything (sic), while Tony Blair’s contribution is a collation of Private Eye’s long-running parody – the Rev Tony Blair’s parish newsletter.

We should not expect a work of great literary merit from Alex Salmond, so a Bennite “never-wrong-ever” would be my prediction.
