Off balance

Regarding all the talk about 50:50 quotas of men and women for membership of boards of public bodies, could we also have equality of the sexes for newsreaders (not that horrible American word newscasters) and weather forecasters?

Fifty years ago it was all men, then there was a brief period of equality. Now it is all women, or is equality a one-way street?
