On the attack

I wonder if it's possible for a political interviewer to conduct probing intelligent interviews of politicians without adopting an implacably unpleasant, supercilious demeanour and constantly interrupting their replies. I ask because, to observe the current election campaign on TV and radio, you wouldn't think so.
