Animal welfare a full-time concern
IT is welcoming news that Lothian and Borders Police have appointed Constable Jim McGovern as Scotland’s first full time wildlife crime officer ("Jim answers call of wild for new post", News March 29) to help combat wildlife crimes across the Lothians.
Wildlife crime seems to be increasing, with extremely cruel offences committed against animals of all kinds.
Hopefully Constable McGovern will see this decreasing as he holds the new post, which will surely be a great help.
Hopefully this will also help bring to justice callous, cruel persons who harm animals.
