Advice for Putin

As we enter a new year, the security of us all is more threatened than ever from the fundamental religious groups which are expanding in many countries and who care little for human life.

Hopefully, the recent major incidents in Russia will persuade a reluctant Vladimir Putin to work closely with the West to devise more effective ways of learning more about potential attacks threatening us all worldwide.

As a start, he would do well to turn his back on people like Edward Snowden, who continues to harm the security services of the West from the hospitality given by the Russian leader.

Mr Putin should immediately return Snowden to the USA to send out a message that no self-seeking hero will be allowed to interfere and harm the vital work of our security services in keeping us safe from the increasing threats of terrorism.
