Aberdeen’s views

Being merely an occasional visitor to welcoming Aberdeen, I obviously have no say in the contentious City Garden Project which seems to have polarised opinion and will cause a local referendum to be held.

However, I recall quite recently Alex Salmond suggesting that the proposed national independence referendum was solely a matter for the voters of Scotland to decide so I am at a loss to understand why he has given his public support to the City Garden Project prior to the city’s referendum when he is not eligible to vote nor interfere.

Surely local democracy should be given its place without national political figures rightly or wrongly giving the impression of exerting influence one way or another.
