So the Edinburgh Dungeon is asking the public into which category William Wallace should fall.

The question sparks debate for the attraction’s new show, which portrays the Scottish hero as the “greatest freedom fighter” in the country’s history.

General manager Johnny Campbell said: “Some believe Wallace was a hero and wrongly condemned, whilst others argue he behaved like a terrorist, trying to change ‘policy’ through bloodshed.”

Shadow secretary has all the highlights licked

LABOUR’S shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna, who was in town the other day to officially open the new Bruntsfield Post Office, knows how to have a good time in Scotland.

Before cutting the ribbon with sub-postmaster Ibrahim Joulack, he revealed that his earlier engagements in the day had been at the Glenmorangie bottling plant in West Lothian and a major pharmaceutical company.

A NEW poll has seen our Capital named as one of Europe’s top ten holiday destinations.

More than 212.000 people cast their vote online over a three-week period. Edinburgh, the UK’s only representative, scored an impressive 8416 votes in total.

But we didn’t get close to first-placed Porto, with nearly 27,000 opting for the Portuguese city.

If only they had they seen the temperatures around these parts in recent days.
