Talk of the Town: Murray still plaid a blinder in Oz

IT all ended in heartbreak for Andy Murray on Sunday as a third chance to snatch the Australian Open crown slipped away into the hands of arch-rival Novak Djokovic.

But as this picture proves, it wasn’t an entirely unsuccessful stint in Melbourne for the US Open champion and Olympic gold medallist.

Murray made a pre-tournament bet with ex-player and Australian TV commentator Darren Cahill – who also led Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt to glory as a coach – that if the Scotsman reached the final, then Cahill would have to don a kilt in the commentary box during yesterday’s showdown.

And it seems as if world number three Murray even picked out the tartan himself.

Boys see space for Irn-Bru

EVERYBODY knows that Red Bull gives you wings – but now a group of schoolboys is aiming to prove that Irn-Bru is out of this world.

Six Craigmount High School pupils will represent Scotland in April at a Dutch science contest, where they’ll show off a satellite inside a can using the famous blue and orange livery.
