IT would take a more than a sing-song to kickstart a redemption at Easter Road, but Hibs ace Ivan Sproule may have hit the right note to get the team jammin’.

The diminutive forward has introduced a little Bob Marley to the dressing room to ensure everything’s gonna be alright.

Midfielder Isaiah Osbourne revealed his team-mate’s penchant for reggae during an interview at the weekend.

“He sings a bit of Bob Marley. He’s pretty good to be fair. I’m a Bob Marley man myself. We had a bit of Bob Marley in the changing room after the Kilmarnock game.”

Lets hope Hibs fans aren’t waiting in vain for the club’s season to improve.

A burning desire to get night off to a hot start

CURRY house Kismot made the headlines last year after its curry-eating competition served up a dish so fiery it landed two people in hospital.

It’s the kind of negative publicity most businesses would be keen to avoid. But it seems there may have been an unexpected benefit.

Talk of the Town overheard a lad bragging this weekend that he was off to Kismot to start off a stag do.

It seems the Kismot Killer has become a right of passage, although given the after effects it might be a better way to end a night.

A bubbly banger

THEY are famed for their sausage selection, and now award-winning butchers Crombies have cooked up something a little bit special.

They have created a champagne-based banger to raise funds for charity ChildLine, and toast the 25th anniversary of the Q Guild of butchers.

Jonathan Crombie said, “We are proud to be part of the Q Guild, and wanted to mark its silver anniversary and share the celebration with our customers.”

Alongside the sausage promotion Crombies will also be running a prize draw for a magnum of champagne, and offering tastings of the special sausage.

Toasting Scottish progress

SCOTS may be the envy of the world when it comes to scenery, engineering feats and a diaspora found across the world.

But our drinking culture is less likely to be a source of pride. Despite that, an alcohol addiction expert in Nottingham has recommended the English look north for inspiration on how to solve people’s drinking battles.

Dr Jane McGregor said the English were only now “waking up” to just what a challenge it was, something Scotland had faced up to years ago, she claimed.
