As Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling clashed for the second time, currency, the NHS, oil revenues and the future of Trident were once again the topics of heated exchange.

Monday night’s Guardian/ICM poll appeared to show Alex Salmond as a clear winner of the debate at 79% to Alistair Darling’s 21%, a marginal shift in opinion from the debate between the two earlier this month which indicated that the former chancellor scored victory over the SNP leader.
