SCOTTISH Labour leader Jim Murphy suggested Scottish Labour said Labour had fallen into the SNP’s “trap” and allowed the nationalists to portray it as unpatriotic.

The East Renfrewshire MP said that Scottish Labour would no longer be seen as the “representatives of UK Labour in London” as he said the party should reclaim the mantle of patriotism from the SNP.

Mr Murphy effectively declared Scottish Labour was now fully autonomous from Westminster as he stated that the party north of the border would now “call the shots” over policy and campaigning.
