Labour leader Ed Miliband has come under further pressure to investigate claims that members of the Unite union tried to rig his party’s candidate selection in Falkirk.
The calls followed the announcement that Stephen Deans, Unite’s convenor at the Grangemouth refinery complex until last week, plans to stand down as Labour’s Felkirk West chair, amid claims he tried to thwart the original inquiry.
