WITH today’s referendum on a knife-edge the only number that matters for Alex Salmond and David Cameron is final count as Scotland goes to the polls.

The First Minister hailed the “people power” of the pro-independence movement as the “greatest campaign in Scottish history”, Mr Salmond made his final pitch to voters at a rally in Perth last night.

Meanwhile David Cameron suggested he will resist calls to quit if Scotland votes Yes. The Prime Minister is likely to come under pressure if the poll results in the break-up of the United Kingdom.
