Amazon has announced a plan to deliver goods to its customers using unmanned drones.

The online shopping site, the world’s biggest retailer, will use an “octocopter” - a gadget the size of a pc monitor, to pick a parcel from a production line within half an hour and set off to deliver it to the customer’s door. The company says it has the technology to launch its first fleet of drones by spring 2015.
